Germany
A long-running campaign in Germany to increase understanding of Down’s Syndrome and to promote the rights of people with Down’s and their integration into society. Campaign themes have varied over the years, highlighting different aspects of the syndrome. Since 2003, the campaign has featured an annual event: the German Down’s Athletes Festival, in which children and young people with Down’s syndrome can participate and compete.

India
Funding for various projects in India, organized by the charity Aarambh, which focuses on improving the lives of disadvantaged women and children in the slum districts of New Bombay. Through activities based around health care, education and recreation, the charity aims to give children a strong educational foundation, greater self-esteem…and some fun!

Slovenia
Support for the “Association of Friends of Youth” NGO (non-governmental organization) in Slovenia to arrange holidays for under-privileged children. The initiative has raised over one million euros and has provided free breaks for around 6000 children. Lek – the Sandoz subsidiary in Slovenia – has been involved since the start of the program in 1999.

Switzerland
A commitment to an important aspect of medical science by funding a Chair of Primary Care at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Sandoz, which has provided 200 000 CHF to fund the chair, aims to promote the importance of this important medical field and to bring young researchers and students into the topic.
